Police are appealing for witnesses, CCTV and dash cam footage after a report that jewellery was stolen from a woman aged in her nineties in a distraction burglary in Berwick Hills, Middlesbrough, this afternoon.
Detectives are investigating the incident which happened between 1pm and 1:30pm this afternoon, Wednesday 11th January, on Chingford Avenue.
A male suspect attended the address and gained access to the property. He is described as a white male and was wearing a dark duffle jacket.
Jewellery of sentimental value, including rings, were stolen.
Anyone with information regarding the male suspect or any witnesses who may have further information, can contact Detective Sergeant Lorna Atkinson from Middlesbrough CID on 101, quoting incident number 006293.
