Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team seized cannabis plants estimated to be worth up to £175,000 on Monday (9 January).
Officers attended a property on Bethune Road in the Whinney Banks area and discovered the cannabis plants, following information from the public. Associated drugs paraphernalia was also recovered.
The set up of the electrics within the property potentially posed a danger to other neighbouring properties and residents nearby.
Enquiries are continuing in order to locate those responsible.
Anyone with information regarding drugs activity in their local area is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101.
Independent charity Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously either online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
