36-year-old Pegman Ramezany, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced to 3 years in prison for drugs offences after worked carried out by Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Ramezany pleaded guilty on Friday 6th January and was sentenced to 3 years in prison for two incidents where he was found in possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.
The first incident happened on 30th March 2022 when officers executed a drugs warrant at his home address on Meath St, Middlesbrough, and Ramezany was located inside with grip seal bags of crack cocaine.
On 23rd July 2022, he was spotted by officers who conducted a stop search and he had rocks of crack cocaine concealed behind a bandage and hidden in his sock.
He was again arrested on suspicion of drugs offences and charged in July 2022.
A trial date was set but Ramezany pleaded guilty on Friday 6th January and he received a three year sentence.
Sergeant John Sproson from Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We are pleased with the sentence handed to Ramezany, who did not give up his criminal ways after his first arrest and continued peddling class A drugs in Middlesbrough. The law has now caught up with him and thankfully he will now spend a lengthy spell behind bars.
“We won’t tolerate behaviour which blights the lives of our local communities and causes misery for those living and working in the area.
“Please contact police with any information you may have on drugs activity in your local area, we will always act on information given to us and hopefully take more offenders, like Ramezany, off our streets.”
