Officers seize suspected drugs in Thornaby

Officers from Stockton Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) seized a quantity of drugs in Thornaby after noticing suspicious activity.

Police were alerted to a suspicious male riding an off-road bike on Chestnut Grove, Thornaby, on 31^st December 2022, and located the suspected rider a short while later.

The 15-year-old boy was found in possession of a quantity of Class C drugs and was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class C drugs and driving offences.

A subsequent search of an address linked in connection to the arrest resulted in officers seizing around £1,000 in cash and a machete.

Officers also arrested a 40-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Both suspects have been bailed pending further enquiries.
