Day of action in Stockton sees five arrested

Five people have been arrested for a variety of offences following a day of action in Stockton which saw officers target outstanding suspects.

Officers today (3rd July), arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a number of offences including a theft from Tesco which occurred on June 27th whereby it was reported that £125 worth of items were stolen.

The man was charged with theft and was bailed for two unrelated offences.

During the day of action, a 23-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following an incident on Prince Regent Street, Stockton, on the 30th April.

It was reported that a male victim was punched to the face resulting in him sustaining serious injuries which required emergency surgery.

The man was bailed pending further enquiries.

A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with an aggravated burglary which occurred at an address on Ladyfern Way, Stockton, on 22nd December, 2022.

He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers from the Proactive Team assisted Stockton CID with the arrest of a 21-year-old man in connection with a robbery which occurred on High Newham Road, Stockton, on the 6th May.

It was reported that a male victim was threatened with a knife before his mobile phone and bicycle were stolen.

Officers attended an address in Hardwick to conduct the arrest and recovered pepper spray, a quantity of Class C and B drugs and some cash.

He was further arrested for possession with intent to supply Class C drugs, possession of Class B drugs, possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid and possession of criminal property.

The man has been bailed pending further enquiries.

A 33-year-old man was also arrested in connection with 12 offences relating to theft from motor vehicles and motor vehicle interference which all occurred during the early hours of the morning on 5th February within the Thornaby area.

He is currently in custody awaiting an interview.
