A man was arrested within 30 minutes of a store robbery being reported to police yesterday.
Officers were called to the One Stop on Westgate in Guisborough at around 3.45pm where staff said a man who had his face covered and who was armed with a knife had threatened a staff member before taking money from the till and making off.
Shortly afterwards a 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and he remains in custody while enquiries by detectives continue.
