Two men have been sentenced following a robbery at a Hartlepool store which took place in August 2023.
Bradley Doyle, aged 24, from Hartlepool and Kane Sutheran, 23, from Stillington, attended the Premier Store on Osbourne Road on 12th August 2023, where they attempted to steal goods before being stopped by a woman.
The men threatened that they would pull out a knife, and Bradley Doyle put his arm around the woman’s neck whilst trying to steal more items and make off.
CCTV showed the woman struggling with the men. Thankfully, she was physically uninjured.
Bradley Doyle was sentenced to 32 months in prison and Kane Sutheran sentenced to 34 months imprisonment.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Seb Cockcroft from Hartlepool CID, said: “I truly admire the bravery of the victim, who fought both suspects and was thankfully physically uninjured.
“These are great sentences and they project a strong message to offenders who commit robbery and shop thefts in Hartlepool; we won’t tolerate it and you will be brought to justice.”
