Students from Abbey Hill Academy visited Kirkleatham Police Station for an educational visit on Thursday 9 November.
Abbey Hill Academy is a specialist secondary school for young people with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities.
15 children aged 12 and 13 years old were taught about the role of the police by Insp Paul Brodie, Sgt Tim Walmsley and PCSO Geoff Illingworth. They were shown around the custody suite where they had their custody photos and fingerprints taken and placed into a cell to help them understand police processes.
Insp Paul Brodie said: “It is really rewarding to be able to host interactive visits like this and engage with young people, supporting them in their education and building confidence with the people and communities we protect.”
