On Thursday 23rd November around 4:05pm, a number of items of concern were discovered in the public area at Middlesbrough Police Station, on Bridge Street West.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) attended to examine the items and a cordon was put in place whilst this was carried out. Following the examination, no further action was needed by the EOD.
A man aged 33 has been arrested on suspicion of possession of firearm without a certificate, and a woman aged 54 has been arrested on suspicion of class A drugs.
Both remain in police custody at this time.
