Thousands of imported tablets seized in early morning drugs warrant, Redcar.

Redcar NPT officers executed a warrant at an address in the town’s Eggleston Road early this morning.

Three thousand Zopiclone tablets which are believed to have been imported from overseas were seized.  These could include ingredients which pose a health risk to anyone taking them.

Two men (48 and 58) were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class C drug and they’re currently being questioned while enquiries continue.

Redcar NPT Sergeant Martyn Weston said: “This morning’s activity was as a result of information from the community and I’d like to thank them for their assistance and support.

“We will always investigate reports of drug dealing and welcome the public’s help with this.
