A 48-year-old man is due to attend court after being charged in connection with vehicle crime offences.
At 2.20am yesterday (Monday, 30th October) officers were called to a report of a man trying car doors in the Principal Road/College Gardens area of Redcar.
The man was detained in College Gardens by an off-duty police officer and he was arrested then also questioned about a number of other vehicle crime offences which had been reported to police in the last week.
He was subsequently charged with theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of theft from a motor vehicle, attempted theft from a motor vehicle, no insurance and no licence and is to attend Teesside Magistrates’ Court today (31st October).
