A 26-year-old man has been sentenced to two years in prison after a burglary in the early hours of the morning.
The incident happened on Saturday 5th August as a woman and child slept in their home in Norton.
Nathan McManus was charged and sentenced at Teesside Crown Court earlier this month after an investigation by Stockton CID officers.
He stole items including a child’s computer games, cash from a wallet and various items of food.
Detective Constable Kev Middleton from Stockton CID said: “Burglary can have a massive impact on people who have had someone go into their home without permission and go through their personal items. In this case it did have a big impact upon a woman and child after McManus went into their home in the middle of the night to steal whilst they slept.
“I’m pleased that Nathan McManus is now behind bars and hope that this provides some comfort to the victims in this case. I would also like to thank them for their patience and cooperation throughout the investigation and judicial process.”
