Officers were called to Richmond Court in Grangetown at around 3.35am on Monday 1st April following a reported firearms incident.
A man was taken to hospital with injuries believed to have been caused by a firearm. His injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening.
Officers will be continuing to carry out patrols in the local area to provide reassurance to the community.
This is believed to be a targeted attack and there is not believed to be any wider threat to the community at this time.
Enquiries are ongoing.
