Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage as enquiries continue into a single vehicle collision in which six young people were seriously injured.
It happened at 00:11am on Sunday (21st April) when a blue Ford Fiesta Zetec was in collision with a barn wall on Coal Lane in Wolviston near Billingham.
The vehicle is believed to have travelled from Wolviston village centre, up Durham Road and turned right onto Coal Lane before the collision took place.
All six occupants of the vehicle (4 men and two women, all in their late teens and early 20s) attended local hospitals for injuries including some fractures, with one man also sustaining spinal injuries.
A 19-year-old man was arrested shortly after officers’ arrival at the scene, on suspicion of failing to provide a specimen and for dangerous driving.
Enquires into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing and we would appeal for anyone who can help with information or doorbell/dashcam or CCTV footage from along the route detailed above to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 072323.
