At approximately 9pm on Monday 15 April a 49-year-old man was cycling along Oxford Road when he was pushed from behind, causing him to fall off his bike.
Upon the man attempting to get back up, his bike had been stolen.
The robbery occurred near to a betting shop, between the junction of Shrewsbury Street and Oxford Road.
Officers investigating the robbery are appealing for members of the public to come forward with information, CCTV or dash cam footage that could assist with their enquiries.
Detective Constable Esther Allen, from Hartlepool Police’s CID, said: “Understandably the victim has been left shaken by what happened and sustained bruising and scrapes to his face and knees.
“At this stage we are appealing for information that could assist in identifying who pushed the man and stole his bike.
“I want to encourage anyone who may have been in the area at the time and may have witnessed the robbery, or has information, CCTV or dash cam footage to get in touch.”
