Officers are continuing to provide reassurance patrols in Grangetown as the investigation into firearms offences in the area continues.
Cleveland Police received reports of firearms discharged on Richmond Court on Easter Monday, 1st April, and Wilton Way on 6th April.
Alongside local neighbourhood teams, police have used a range of resources including the Matrix Team and drones to provide a highly visible presence to help reassure local residents.
Cleveland Police’s Local Policing Commander for Redcar and Cleveland, Superintendent Emily Harrison, said: “Whilst the investigation into these incidents continues and we have so far made a number of arrests in connection with this, we know that local people may still be concerned by what’s happened and so we continue to provide a highly visible presence in the area to help reassure our local communities.
“I stress again that these are believed to be targeted attacks, but understand the concerns of the local community in feeling safe when these incidents are occurring around them.”
A 21-year-old man from the Grangetown area appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court on Monday 15th April, charged with burglary, two thefts of motor vehicles and driving offences. He has been remanded in custody until a further hearing on 14th May.
