Two men have been charged in connection with an incident in Guisborough whereby a 45-year-old man was found with a serious injury to his head.
Officers believe the man sustained his injury between 11.25pm and 11.53pm on Saturday 23 March in the Helmsley Drive area.
The victim remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A 26-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
They both appeared in court on Wednesday 10th April where they were remanded in custody until their next court appearance.
Two other men, aged 32 and 30, were also arrested in connection with the incident and they were bailed pending further enquiries.
