Officers are warning of a recent spate of shed and garage burglaries in the Hemlington and Stainton areas of Middlesbrough.
Whilst police continue with their enquiries to identify those responsible for the recent incidents, officers would like to remind local residents of some crime prevention advice which could potentially assist in deterring potential thieves.
These steps include thinking about fitting alarms, locking items using chains or hiding them from view and also property marking.
Items such as bikes, tools, lawnmowers and motorbikes are often reported stolen from sheds and garages.
