At 9.40pm on Thursday 29 August police were called to Dunoon Close in Stockton following reports of a group of men in possession of weapons.
Officers swiftly attended to the area and located a 45-year-old man with a knife wound to his head. He was taken to North Tees General Hospital by ambulance and has since been discharged.
Following further enquiries, a property on Honeycomb Avenue was searched by officers and a 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violence against the person.
He is currently in police custody for questioning.
