A controlled explosion was carried out this morning (Saturday 31st August) on Saltburn beach after a report that a suspected unexploded device, possibly from war time, had been located by a member of the public.
Officers attended along with colleagues from the Coastguard and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team (EOD).
A cordon was put in place whilst the controlled explosion was carried out around 4:10am, and this was lifted afterwards.
