A man is being questioned after police received a report that a woman was assaulted while she was out alone, walking her dogs in a Stockton park.
The alleged incident occurred in Newham Grange Park (known locally as Monkey Tree Park) at around 6.50pm on Wednesday this week (21st August).
The woman is not believed to have sustained serious injuries and left the area following the incident.
A 28-year-old man was identified by officers last night and he was arrested a short while later, on suspicion of assault.
He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
