A man who stole a wallet from a car before using the bank card to purchase items has been jailed after he was arrested by Redcar and Cleveland’s Proactive Team.
Jack Nawton from Dormanstown was arrested by the team on Friday 23rd August in connection with the theft which occurred on Tweed Road, Redcar, the day before.
He was also wanted on prison recall. Whilst at the address, the team also recovered a motorbike which was reported stolen two days earlier.
The 24-year-old was arrested and charged with theft from a motor vehicle, handling stolen goods and fraud by false representation.
He appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on 24th August where he pleaded guilty to all offences and he was jailed for 16 weeks.
