Man who assaulted officer during Middlesbrough disorder now behind bars

Matthew Putson kicked and punched the Cleveland Police officer.

The 27-year-old then chose to throw bottles and bricks at the policing line during the day of violence on Sunday 4 August.

This afternoon he appeared at Teesside Crown Court and was sent down to the cells to serve a two year and eight month sentence.
