Staff in the Complex Exploitation Team for Cleveland Police held a collection to provide a small hamper and Christmas gift to vulnerable adults in the community.
The hampers – comprising of toiletries and sweets – were handed to those attending a festive celebration at a local community café on Wednesday 18th December.
Detective Chief Inspector Steph Field said: “The gifts were graciously received by everyone who attended, and it was quite an emotional event.
“Every day, the Complex Exploitation Team and the Neighbourhood Policing Tea, together with our partners, work together to help the most vulnerable members of our communities. These cafes are a safe environment where the most vulnerable can feel listened to and supported into making positive changes in their lives.
“I’m grateful to our staff for gathering this collection of gifts, which have put a smile on the faces of people who may not receive any other gifts this Christmas and are just happy that someone cares about them.”
