A 24-year-old man has been given a two year sentence suspended for 18 months, after dealing class A drugs in Middlesbrough.
On 23rd April 2024, Ethan Halpin was witnessed by CCTV operators from Middlesbrough Councill carrying out drug deals in the North Ormesby area.
Proactive Team officers from Cleveland Police were directed towards Halpin, of Rutland Court, Middlesbrough, where he was detained and arrested.
Officers searching him found 17 crack cocaine deals, a burner phone and £80 in cash. He was interviewed, charged and remanded to court where he appeared for sentencing on Friday 6th December.
Middlesbrough Proactive Team Sergeant John Sproson said: “We are committed to ridding the streets of Middlesbrough of drugs; and dealing effectively with those people who bring misery by peddling drugs within our local communities and causing associated crime and antisocial behaviour.
“I am pleased with the sentence today. Halpin will now be behind bars, and it is another warning to those who think it’s OK to cause distress to the residents of Middlesbrough.”
