Four arrests were made as vehicles failed to stop for Matrix Team officers in Cleveland.
On Monday 9th December, around 11:35am, a black BMW was spotted on Tees Road in Hartlepool which was believed to be using a cloned number plate.
The vehicle made off after officers attempted to stop it and a short pursuit took place, whereby slight damage was caused to a police vehicle when the BMW attempted to ram it.
Officers managed to stop the vehicle and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, no insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence. He has since been bailed whilst enquiries continue.
In the early hours of Tuesday 10th December, around 3am, officers were called to a reported burglary on Roman Road in Middlesbrough.
A vehicle was pursued after it allegedly made off from the scene, and was abandoned nearby. A search of the area was carried out, and a 35-year-old man was arrested and later charged with burglary. He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court in January.
Two men were then arrested after a short pursuit around 9:20am on Tuesday 10th December, when a suspected stolen Dacia Duster failed to stop for officers on the A66.
The vehicle headed towards North Ormesby where it was abandoned and a search of the area was carried out by police.
A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of driving offences and burglary with intent to steal.
A 47-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal.
