A three-month house closure has been granted at Teesside Magistrates Court after Cleveland Police and Middlesbrough Council worked together to act upon complaints from residents.
The tenant of the property, on Palin Close, had caused much distress to other residents in the area and reports had been received by police and council colleagues relating to suspected drug dealing, antisocial behaviour, off-road bikes attending the address, fly-tipping, and serious nuisance and disorder.
At Teesside Magistrates Court on Friday 6th December, the three-month closure was granted, meaning that the tenant needed to leave immediately and the property will remain unoccupied for at least three months.
Inspector Darren Birkett, of Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “It is unacceptable for a minority of people to cause misery and suffering for other law-abiding citizens in our communities, and we will work together with our partners to tackle those issues brought to our attention. We won’t tolerate this behaviour and neither should the communities of Middlesbrough - please report any issues to us.”
Call Cleveland Police on 101 to report any issues, or go to www.cleveland.police.uk to report online.
