Two vehicles have been seized by Middlesbrough Proactive Team yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 3rd December.
The first car, a blue Vauxhall Antara, was spotted by officers from Middlesbrough Proactive Team on Castle Way in Grove Hill, Middlesbrough at 2pm. The driver failed to stop for police and made off, abandoning the vehicle on Hadleigh Crescent. Following an area search for the driver, the vehicle was seized.
Officers are trying to trace the driver of the vehicle and are appealing for dash cam and CCTV footage to contact police on 101, quoting reference SE24229200.
Just an hour later, officers stopped a black Renault Clio on Cargo Fleet Lane in Middlesbrough. Checks on the vehicle revealed that it was being driven without insurance. The car was seized and the driver reports for summons.
Sergeant John Sproson from Middlesbrough Proactive Team said: “We work to keep our roads safe and won’t tolerate illegal and criminal use of our roads. If you are driving a vehicle illegally, without insurance, your car will be seized.”
