Cleveland Police has created a new stalking and harassment reporting page to help make it easier for victims to tell us about an incident.
Stalking follows the pattern of FOUR – fixated, obsessed, unwanted and repeated. Any kind of persistent, unwanted contact that causes distress is stalking and is unacceptable.
Our new reporting page directs you to the correct page depending on if it’s a current partner or how many times it has happened.
You can report for yourself, for someone else or as a witness. We’ll investigate whatever you tell us, and we'll let you know what steps we'll take next.
Superintendent Helen Wilson who is the force lead for Adult Safeguarding said: “We know it can be extremely difficult to report something to police, especially if it has caused a huge amount of distress and fear so we want to make it as easy as possible for victims.
“We’re committed to doing everything we can to protect our communities because everyone has the right to feel safe. We will always investigate reports made to us while offering victims the appropriate support and safeguarding.
“To anyone who feels like they are being stalked or harassed please know you are not alone. We have officers here ready to listen and help you. Please call us on 101 or visit our new reporting page below.”
