The attack occurred at around 2.20am on Christmas Day (Wednesday 25 December) at The Deck on Bath Street.
A 31-year-old man suffered extensive injuries to his ear as well as a bite to his leg and a cut to his hand.
Officers swiftly took him to James Cook University Hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.
An investigation is underway, and officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
PC Beevers, of Redcar Police, said: “This was an horrific attack with the man receiving significant injuries and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
“While our enquiries are ongoing, I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the nightclub at the time of the assault and saw it take place.
“I would also encourage anyone with mobile phone footage or information that could assist with the investigation to get in touch.”
