Two arrested and vehicle seized during on-going seasonal drink and drug driving campaign.

Our Matrix Team officers were on Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough last night, carrying out a mass drink drive screening as part of our ongoing seasonal drink and drug drive campaign.

They stopped 105 vehicles, obtaining a breath sample from drivers; two were found to be exceeding the legal alcohol limit and they were subsequently arrested.

One of those arrested did not hold a driving licence or insurance for his vehicle either, so his car was seized.

These checks will be carried out throughout December and into the new year, so please don’t get behind the wheel if you have been drinking and remember, you could still be over the limit the next morning; it’s just not worth the risk!
