Weapons, drugs and an off-road bike were seized by officers in Stockton, Billingham and Thornaby Neighbourhood Teams, during a day of action to tackle the blight of crime and antisocial behaviour in the area, on Thursday 5th December.
Officers took the streets, patrolling and visiting addresses linked to reports of criminal activity.
An off-road bike was seized at an address on Hampden Way in Thornaby and a man was arrested on suspicion of riding a bike whilst disqualified and riding without insurance. He was taken to police custody for questioning.
A teenager will also attend the station voluntarily to be questioned by officers.
Officers also carried out a joint visit with Thirteen Housing, to a property on Vulcan Way in Thornaby after receiving reports that a property was being sub-let and of drugs activity at the premises. Weapons and drugs were seized from the property and the occupants were evicted immediately.
Sergeant Gary Cookland of Stockton Neighbourhood Team said: “We often run days of action in the area in response to calls received from members of the public reporting these issues to us.
“Those living in our Stockton communities shouldn’t have to live alongside this type of activity and should be able to feel safe and secure in their neighbourhoods. We’re grateful that people in the community pick up the phone to let us know what is happening, and by working together we can clamp down on those spoiling our area.”
