A road is closed in Stockton following a collision involving a single vehicle, believed to be a taxi, and a pedestrian.
The incident happened shortly after 1am on Sunday 11 February 2024 on Prince Regent Street, the A1305, between Bishopton Lane and Dovecot Street near to KFC.
There is a full road closure and members of the public are urged to avoid the area.
The pedestrian, a woman, has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
The taxi driver is at this time helping officers with their enquiries.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Cleveland Police.
Anyone with any dashcam footage, or anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, is also urged to get in touch with police.
Officers urge anyone with any information to dial 101 and speak to the force control room, quoting reference number 025075.
