Perry, 38, was sentenced to four and a half years for conspiracy to supply Class A and C drugs, and conspiracy to posses a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence on Monday 19 February, following Cleveland Police's Operation Castle investigation into a drugs and firearms conspiracy.
He is currently serving a ten and a half year sentence for his part in a drugs conspiracy, investigated by Cleveland Police under Operation Spoonbill, which involved class A drugs being dropped into the UK by helicopter.
Perry was given an extra two and a half years when he was sentenced in January for perverting the course of justice. He will serve these sentences consecutively to his original sentence, taking his term to 17 years 4 months in total.
Detective Chief Inspector Ged Wraith said: “Daniel Perry was linked to an organised crime group in the North East and beyond which police have disrupted and dismantled as part of Operation Castle.
The total sentence of 17 years and four months, reflects the threat, harm and risk that Perry posed to our local communities.
I’d like to thank the investigative team who have relentlessly pursued Perry over a prolonged period of time, exposing his criminality, presenting it to court and achieving these positive outcomes.”
