Footage Released after Man and Woman Sentenced for Drug Offences in Middlesbrough

Footage has been released after a man and woman were sentenced for their parts in drug dealing in the Gresham area of Middlesbrough.

On 6^th April 2023 in Maple Street, Middlesbrough neighbourhood officers pounced on the pair after they were seen drug dealing at alley gates by officers using the police drone.

Michelle Fox, aged 41, of Haddon Street in Middlesbrough, was today sentenced to 32 months in custody after pleading guilty to two possession with intent to supply class A drugs offences at Teesside Crown Court.

Michael Millward, aged 47, formerly of Maple Street in Middlesbrough, also shown in the footage, was sentenced in 2023 to six years in prison for two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property.

A package containing around £4,650 worth of crack cocaine was recovered after being thrown over the gate by Millward and a bag containing heroin was damaged after he also attempted to throw it over a gate.

Both Millward and Fox were arrested and later charged to appear in court.

Sergeant John Sproson said: “Police are proactively tackling those who think it’s acceptable to distribute drugs on the streets of Middlesbrough.

“These convictions are amongst a number of others which the team have secured in order to help remove those people who cause misery for our communities; leaving elderly people scared to sleep in their homes and others who won’t have their grandchildren visiting for fear of them seeing drug dealing on their doorstep.

“The message from us is that if you deal drugs, there is nowhere to hide and we will catch you.”
