A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a single vehicle collision on Normanby Road in Middlesbrough last night.
At 11.40pm on Saturday 24 February, the silver Renault Clio collided with a lamp post during a short police pursuit.
The 24-year-old driver was taken to James Cook University Hospital with serious injuries.
A 16-year-old boy who was a passenger in the car, suffered neck and back pain and has since been released from hospital.
A mandatory referral to the IOPC has been made by the force.
