A man has been jailed after stealing items from Sainsbury’s Local and Shell in Eston and breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
Jamie Barker, 26, was issued with a CBO by the courts in August 2023 after he was convicted of a number of shoplifting offences.
The CBO is in place until August 2025 and prevents Barker from entering Sainsbury’s Local on Bankfields Road, Eston, and the Shell service station on Eston High Street.
On 7th February 2024, Barker entered Sainsbury’s Local in Eston and stole a number of products. Later that day he also attended Shell and stole several products.
The next morning, officers from the Greater Eston Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) located Barker at his home address and arrested him on suspicion of two shop thefts and breaching a CBO.
He was subsequently interviewed and remanded in custody to appear at court the next day.
Barker appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court on 9th February and he was jailed for 18 weeks.
