Three arrests were made after Proactive Team officers carried out patrols in the Newport area of Middlesbrough on Thursday 22nd February.
After officers reportedly sighted suspicious activity at an alley gate on Faraday Street, police detained and arrested a man and woman; and recovered a large quantity of cash and a quantity of suspected crack cocaine.
A subsequent address search led to further seizures of suspected crack cocaine, cash, phones and a machete.
A 54-year-old man in the address was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and was bailed whilst enquiries continue.
A 28-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property. Both were due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today (Friday 24th February).
