Officers investigating a collision in which a mountain bike rider was seriously injured are appealing for information or footage to help ongoing enquiries.
It happened at around 2.30pm yesterday, Thursday 25th January, on Somerset Road at its junction with Lavender Way in Norton.
A motorbike was travelling southeast on Somerset Road and the mountain bike had been ridden onto Somerset Road from the grassed area when they collided.
The 27-year-old cyclist sustained numerous injuries including fractures to his face, ribs and arm as well as internal injuries and he is receiving treatment in James Cook University Hospital.
A 27-year-old man is currently in custody being questioned in connection with the collision.
Police would appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information as well as any dashcam, doorbell, or cctv footage to help our ongoing enquiries.
