CCTV image released in connection with rape in Middlesbrough

Detectives in Middlesbrough have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a rape at a nightclub.

At 3am on Saturday 18 November 2023 a man followed a woman upstairs to the toilets at Mint on Albert Road and then raped her.

Police are now asking members of the public for help in identifying the man pictured in the CCTV footage.

The man is described as wearing a large black hooded coat.

Detective Constable Philip Adams, from Middlesbrough CID, said: “The investigation is very much ongoing with a number of enquiries underway and as part of these I am keen to identify the man shown in the CCTV image as we believe he may be able to help.

“I am appealing to anyone who may recognise the man and I would also like to urge him to come forward and contact us.

“If you have information, please contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 23228763.”
