A 45-year-old man has received a prison sentence after breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
David Spencer, 45, of Jackson Street, Hartlepool, breached his SHPO a number of times and in July 2022 was communicating with someone who he believed was a 14-year-old girl. He travelled from Durham to meet the girl in the Stockton area, where police intervened and he was arrested.
Spencer was given a 43-month prison sentence on Friday 19th January at Teesside Crown Court.
Detective Constable Carl Middleton, from Cleveland Police Sex Offender Management Unit, said: “David Spencer has proved he is a danger, by breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order a number of times. He has been shown to use various dating and community sites looking for vulnerable females for sexual encounters, these females often have children and without the safeguarding disclosures in place, Spencer posed a great risk to these families.
“I am pleased that Spencer has now been handed a prison sentence, and that the public have been safeguarded from him.”
