As part of #NeighourhoodPolicingWeek officers and PCSOs from Hartlepool Neighbourhood Policing Team have been patrolling primary schools at drop off time to ensure that parents are driving and parking safely.
Yesterday PCSOs offered advice to parents parking vehicles outside of Kingsley Primary School on Kingsley Avenue, and West Park Primary School on Coniscliffe Road in the town, and more patrols are planned throughout the week.
Inspector Adrian Dack of Hartlepool Neighbourhoods said: “It’s important for parents to drive and park safely around primary schools when dropping off and picking up children.
“Make sure that you park responsibly - not on zigzigs or yellow lines - so that parents with small children can see the roads clearly when crossing.”
