Cleveland Police Crime Prevention Team is again reminding members of the public to keep vehicles locked and remove valuables, or keep them out of sight, after a number of reports of thefts from vehicles across the Stockton district.
The incidents happened between Sunday 31st December 2023 and the early hours of Wednesday 3rd January.
Items such as keys, an iPad, cosmetics, sunglasses, a guitar and headphones were stolen.
Paul Payne, Crime Prevention Specialist for Stockton, said: “We would like to remind people to remove all valuable items from sight and would ask people to ensure that the vehicle doors and windows remain locked.
“It’s important that we do all we can to help prevent ourselves from becoming victims of crime. By keeping valuables out of sight and ensuring that vehicle windows and doors are kept locked, this could potentially be enough to deter an opportunist thief.”
It is also important that people store vehicle keys away from windows and doors within their properties.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible and anyone who may have information regarding thefts from vehicles in their local area, is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
