Update as Woman's Body Found in Thornaby

Officers were called around 6:30am today, Monday 8^th January, to a report of a woman’s body found in the Gilmour Street area of Thornaby.

The woman was declared dead at the scene.  

Police have now informed the woman’s family and our thoughts remain with them at this extremely difficult time.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained at this time and a post mortem examination will take place.
