Guisborough, Eston and Redcar Neighbourhood Policing Teams joined forces with North Yorkshire Police’s Rural Task Force for an operation to tackle rural crime in the area.
The operation took place on Friday evening (12th July) and involved drone searches, vehicle stops and proactive patrols around the border between the two forces.
Officers responded to reports of six people on two quad bikes on farmland. Two officers were on scene within minutes and one bike was seized due to officers suspecting it was stolen.
A North Yorkshire Police drone was deployed to assist in the search for the outstanding suspects.
Multiple vehicles were stopped throughout the evening by both forces and one man was stopped and dealt with for possession of cannabis.
Our officers are working hard to tackle rural crime through enforcement and proactive patrols but information from the public is key to help us to understand where our resources are needed.
Residents can report rural crime and ASB online via the Cleveland Police website or by calling 101. Always use 999 in an emergency.
