On Friday 2nd June 2023, three of our officers were stabbed and slashed during a vicious attack in Billingham whilst answering a call for help.
Despite three of them suffering knife wounds, PCs Holly Grey, Sam Handley, Maverick Reddington, and four others all worked together to subdue the armed man and arrest him.
Mark Fox was jailed for a total of 11 years and eight months on Monday 15th July.
Today, PC Grey, PC Handley, and PC Reddington bravely open up about the impact the incident has had on them and their loved ones.
We also hear from District Commander for Stockton, Superintendent John Wrintmore, who welcomed the sentence passed on Monday.
Being assaulted is never something we accept as part of the job. We will not tolerate violence against our officers and staff and we will continue to do all we can to ensure those who cross that line are brought to justice.
