Information provided to officers in Middlesbrough led to the car being searched on Park Road North.
A quantity of crack cocaine valued at approximately almost £1,000, mobile phones and scales were found and seized.
The recovery took place at 3.45pm on Tuesday 23 July.
Two men, aged 26 and 31, and two women, aged 30 and 40, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
They were taken to custody for questioning and released on conditional bail while the investigating continues.
Sergeant Joseph Mountain, from Middlesbrough’s neighbourhood policing team, said: “Information provided to police is vital in helping to target and disrupt drug activity taking place in our town.
“I hope this reassures the community that we do act on the information that is provided to us and I’d encourage people to please keep getting in touch if they suspect drug activity to be taking place.
