A 61-year-old man is due to appear at court this morning after being charged in connection with a Section 18 assault.
It relates to an incident in Middlesbrough on 20th July in which a 50-year-old man received serious head injuries after an alleged hammer attack.
The 61-year-old man was remanded in custody until his court appearance.
