The 32-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday 2 July and taken into custody for questioning.
He was subsequently charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, handling stolen goods, going equipped for theft, driving while disqualified, without insurance and three criminal damage offences and appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court on Thursday 4 July.
The charges relate to a stolen motor vehicle that was sighted by police and led to a pursuit. The vehicle is alleged to have collided with another vehicle and the driver fled before being detained by police.
