A man has been sentenced to 28 months in prison after a 17-year-old boy was robbed at knifepoint in Middlesbrough.
Ryan Stephenson, 29, was charged with robbery after the victim was threatened with a knife and had his gold jewellery stolen outside Middlesbrough train station on 3rd March 2024.
Thankfully the victim was not harmed but was left shaken by the incident.
Stephenson appeared at Teesside Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to robbery. He appeared at the same court on Tuesday 23rd July for sentencing.
Investigating officer Detective Constable John Saunders said: “This was a terrifying incident for the victim to go through whilst he was just going about his day.
“I hope this sentence sounds out a strong message that we will not tolerate robbery in our communities and we will continue to do all we can to bring those responsible to justice.”
